The inversion method touts that by using this method one week a month you can grow your hair one inch in a week. So, what is the inversion method? The inversion method is designed to improve and increase the blood flow to your scalp to stimulate hair growth. This is achieved through scalp massage and suspending your head below your heart. Here’s how to do it.
Before you start, document how long your hair currently is. This will allow to see the hair growth. Now you are ready to start the inversion
Choose Your Oil
Choose a hair oil to oil your scalp. There are a number of different hair oils that you can use. Oils that are readily available in the Dominican Republic are olive oil and coconut oil. Coconut oil is a universal oil, and is the best oil for all types of hair. These oils can be bought in any of the major supermarkets. Castor oil, grape seed oil, or Moroccan argon oil are also great oils to use.
Oil & Massage Your Scalp
Now that you have your oil. You need to warm it. Warm ail will help to increase the blood flow to your scalp and it improves absorption. Place you bottle or a small container with 3 -4 tablespoon of oil in hot water for a few minutes. Once the oil is warm to the touch, it’s ready to use.
Part your hair. Apply oil to your finger and rub you finger on the exposed scalp to oil your scalp. Continue this process until your entire scalp has been oiled. You won’t need much oil to cover your entire scalp.
If you have dry hair or it tends to break, comb the oil through the rest of your hair. Avoid this step or gently comb your hair if you have curly hair.
Sit in a chair and invert your head downward at a comfortable angle. Set your timer for 4 – 10 minutes and begin gently massage your scalp with the tips of your fingers. Move your fingers in little clockwise and then counterclockwise circles. You only want to apply enough pressure to stimulate the scalp and increase the blood flow. If you have a sensitive scalp or are prone to headaches, you way only want to massage your scalp for 4 minutes.
Invert Your Head
Immediately after you have finished your massage, you want to position your head lower than your heart for 4 – 7 minutes. You can do this by hanging your head over the edge of the sofa or a chair (see the above pic) or sit in a chair and bend over at the waist as far down as you can go.
It is important to straighten up slowly after the time has ended. You may feel slightly dizzy after.
Cover your hair with a shower cap, a grocery bag or a plastic wrap used for hair treatments. Leave the oil for two hours or if you have really dry scalp, you can leave it in overnight. Be careful. Too much oil can make your scalp and hair too oily. This will clog the cuticles and stop your hair from growing.
Wash and Dry Your Hair
Wash your hair with to remove the excess oil. Use a shampoo the is designed for dry scalp. These types of shampoos have lower pH and are not harsh on your hair. They are better at maintaining the hair’s natural oils.
Don’t dry your hair with a normal towel. The fibers will damage your hair. The best way to dry your hair is to let it air dry. Remove the tangle with your fingers and let it air dry. As an alternative, you can also use a microfiber towel to dry your hair or use a microfiber hair wrap to wrap your hair while it is drying.
Repeat the Process
You will want to repeat this process every day for 7 consecutive days. Then wait 3 weeks and repeat again for 7 consecutive days.
An alternative method that some women use is to perform the inversion technique once or twice a week every week without take a 3 week break.
The results will vary from person to person. Maintaining a healthy diet and lifestyle is also beneficial.
